According to a new report from Football Insider, the teenager is highly respected by Jurgen Klopp, with the Reds likely to compete for his signature after his agent stated that a new contract with his current employers has yet to be agreed upon, as tweeted by Fabrizio Romano.

The highly-rated teenager is claimed to be a priority target for both Chelsea and Manchester United, and has been touted as the “greatest talent in the world” by ex-Borussia Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland (as reported by the Mirror).

Liverpool’s priority will undoubtedly remain on strengthening the midfield, but the opportunity to recruit a youngster with such a bright future as Moukoko – and potentially for a bargain amount given his present contractual circumstances – just cannot be passed up.

It would certainly address a minor issue in the front line, since Bobby Firmino’s contract is also slated to expire in 2023, though allowing the Brazilian to leave would be an unpopular decision given his improved play this season.
