Evan Ndicka has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League this year.
Evan Ndicka is expected to join Roma after rejecting a new deal with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Frankfurt revealed earlier this month that the 23-year-old will leave on July 1 when his contract ended.
“Evan Ndicka moved to Eintracht from AJ Auxerre in Ligue 2 in the summer of 2018 and has already established himself as a first-team regular in his first season,” Frankfurt said in a statement.
“In 2018/19, the Frenchman made 36 appearances across all competitions, including nine in the UEFA Europa League.” The defender has a total of 183 competitive games and 15,820 minutes of game time for the Eagles, during which he has 12 goals and 10 assists.Ndicka’s career highlight came in 2022, when he played for 100 minutes in the Europa League final against Rangers (5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw). He appeared in 44 matches across all competitions last season, scoring twice and playing every minute of the team’s UEFA Champions League campaign.”
“We would’ve liked to see Evan at Eintracht Frankfurt in the future, so it’s a shame he’s leaving us,” said board member for sport Markus Krosche. At the same time, we’d want to thank Evan for our five years together, during which he’s performed frequently for us since he was a child. He has contributed to Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports achievements and excellent growth. We wish him the best of luck in the future.”
The French defender was linked with a £20 million transfer to the Premier League in January, with Newcastle United, Liverpool, and Manchester United among the teams said to be interested.
However, Jose Mourinho‘s Roma have signed Ndicka on a free transfer. He will be their second signing of the summer, after free agent Houssem Aouar from Lyon.
